The short version
ApplyRadar uses read-only Gmail access to detect job application activity. It cannot send, delete, archive, or change your email. We do not sell Gmail data, use it for advertising, or use it to train general-purpose AI models.
Information we process
- Account information such as your name, email address, and profile image.
- Encrypted authorization credentials needed to maintain your Gmail connection.
- Recruitment-related email content and metadata needed to identify companies, roles, application events, dates, and interview information.
- Structured application records, confidence signals, and Gmail message references.
- Limited technical logs used for security, reliability, and support.
How Gmail data is used
Gmail data is used only to provide and improve user-facing ApplyRadar features: detecting recruitment messages, matching events to applications, building timelines, and presenting evidence for user review.
ApplyRadar does not make job applications, contact employers, or modify your mailbox. Access is requested separately from account creation and can be disconnected at any time.
What we store
ApplyRadar is designed to store extracted structured application information rather than copies of complete email bodies. Source message identifiers may be retained so that you can trace a detected event back to Gmail. Authorization credentials are encrypted and are never exposed in the product interface.
Service providers and AI processing
ApplyRadar uses OpenAI's API to classify recruitment emails and extract structured application facts. Email content sent to OpenAI is processed solely to return a structured result and is not used to train or improve OpenAI's models. ApplyRadar sends email content with data retention disabled (store: false), meaning OpenAI does not retain the content after the API call completes.
ApplyRadar may use additional carefully selected infrastructure providers to operate the product. All providers receive only the data needed to perform their contracted function and must not use Gmail data for advertising or general-purpose model training.
Data ownership and isolation
Email data is scanned solely on your behalf and displayed only to you. ApplyRadar does not share, cross-reference, or expose one user's email data to any other user or third party. Each account's data is stored in isolation and is not accessible to other ApplyRadar users.
Under GDPR Article 15, you have the right to access the structured data ApplyRadar holds about you. Under Article 17, you have the right to request deletion of that data at any time from the Settings page.
Retention and deletion
Structured application data is retained while your account is active. Disconnecting Gmail revokes OAuth access and stops future scans. Your structured application history is kept. Message processing receipts (internal identifiers used to prevent duplicate processing if you reconnect) are retained; raw email content is never stored. If you reconnect Gmail, only emails received after your last sync will be scanned — no emails are re-processed. Your manually curated application history is kept unless you delete your account.
Deleting your account permanently removes all account data, application records, email processing metadata, and OAuth credentials. Deletion is irreversible. Limited encrypted infrastructure backups may remain for up to 30 days in accordance with our hosting provider's retention policy.
Your choices
- Correct or remove structured application information.
- Disconnect Gmail and revoke future access.
- Request access to or deletion of your account information.
- Delete your ApplyRadar account from Settings.
